Haematology Laboratory
The laboratory supports the diagnosis and follow-up of patients at the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital, providing reliable haematological tests and services to the attending physicians.
Quality Assurance
The laboratory operates with a certified Quality Management System in accordance with the EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, certified by TUV AUSTRIA since 2013.
Results Control
It participates in an external quality control programme for the Complete Blood Count, implemented by the Hellenic Society of Haematology.
- Mediterranean Anaemia Centre: diagnosis and follow-up of haemoglobinopathies and membranopathies.
- “Mitera” Infants Centre: haematological testing of children for adoption.
- Public and Private Hospitals: specialised haematological testing.
- Prenatal Screening Centre for adults.
Haematology and Biopathology residents, as well as students from TEI, TEE, TEL and IEK institutions, are trained in the Laboratory and receive a certificate of practical training.
The staff regularly participate in seminars and conferences in Haematology, Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Chemistry, strengthening scientific knowledge and the quality of the services provided.
