1st & 2nd Surgical Clinic
The 1st and 2nd Surgical Departments of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital provide specialised paediatric surgical care, covering the full spectrum of surgical conditions in newborns, infants, children and adolescents.
The Department is one of the few in Greece that applies modern minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, endoscopic and percutaneous techniques, in both scheduled and emergency cases.
It has specialised expertise in paediatric surgical oncology and operates as a referral centre for complex and complicated cases. It provides full specialty training in Paediatric Surgery, offers educational courses and receives students.
