Directorate of Nursing Services
The Hospital’s Directorate of Nursing Services, headed by Efrosyni Vlachioti (RN, PhD), has as its main mission the provision of specialised and evidence-based nursing care to hospitalised children and their families.
Paediatric nurses, with deep knowledge and dedication, care daily for the health, therapeutic treatment, safety, comfort, education and psychosocial support of young patients, following the principles of family-centred care and the values of the National Code of Nursing Ethics. The Service is organised into nursing sectors with departments and units, supporting excellence in care, research, innovation and continuing education.
In cooperation with the Hospital’s Medical, Administrative and Technical Services, as well as with scientific and educational bodies, the Directorate makes a substantial contribution to the development of paediatric nursing science and to shaping a care environment centred on the child and the family.
