Haemophilia Centre / Haemostasis and Thrombosis Unit
The Unit is a recognised Haemophilia Centre for children and adolescents, providing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and holistic patient care. It serves as a referral centre for all congenital and acquired disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis.
Diagnosis and management of haemophilia and other clotting factor disorders
Prenatal screening and counselling for female carriers and families
Investigation and treatment of thrombocytopenias and thrombasthenias
Anticoagulant therapy and follow-up of children with thrombotic events, including CNS, deep vein and arterial thromboses
Specialised Laboratory with full diagnostic capability for haemostasis/thrombophilia and molecular testing
The Unit’s Laboratory performs a full range of laboratory testing for haemostasis / thrombophilia:
