Ophthalmology Clinic

The Ophthalmology Clinic is responsible for the diagnosis and management of ophthalmological conditions in newborns, infants and children up to 16 years of age.

It manages cases such as refractive errors, strabismus, inflammations and injuries. The Clinic follows the Hospital’s on-call duty schedule.

  • General ophthalmology clinic: refractive assessment, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, haematological and oncological diseases
  • Premature infants and newborns clinic
  • Neurocutaneous diseases clinic
  • Ocular inflammation clinic
Surgical Procedures

Scheduled and emergency procedures are performed for conditions such as:

  • Opening of the nasolacrimal duct – insertion of tubes
  • Strabismus
  • Removal of eyelid and conjunctival lesions
  • Retinal laser photocoagulation – injection of anti-VEGF agent
  • Injuries of the eyeball and eyelids
Education & Scientific Activity

Educational Programme

  • 4 part-time training positions for residents, up to 2 years 
  • Rotational training of residents from adult hospitals 

Scientific Activity

The Clinic’s physicians participate every year in Greek and international conferences, presenting cases and the Clinic’s scientific work.
