The Radiology Department of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital has as its main objective the performance of high-quality diagnostic examinations with the lowest possible radiation dose for each child, regardless of age, size or medical condition.

Arrival Procedure

1. A referral for the examination is required.

2. The arrival process begins at the Patient Admissions Office for validation of the referral.

3. The staff check the patient’s details and provide instructions, such as removing metal objects.

Attention: Companions must inform the staff in case of possible pregnancy.

Preparation for Examinations
  • For most X-rays and ultrasound examinations, no special preparation is required.
  • For specific examinations, such as abdominal ultrasound, the necessary instructions are provided when the appointment is scheduled.

Advice for parents:

Explain to the child in simple words the reason for the examination and reassure them that you will be by their side. In case of pregnancy, it is advisable for another companion to accompany the child.
