The Hospital Infections Committee is the institutional body of the Hospital for the prevention, monitoring, and control of nosocomial infections and antimicrobial resistance.
The Committee organizes and monitors infection surveillance programs, develops and updates prevention and management protocols, trains staff on hand hygiene and proper use of antimicrobials, and collaborates with the relevant national authorities for the implementation of national action plans.
The Nursing Infection Surveillance Team (NIST) constitutes the operational arm of the Committee and is responsible for the daily implementation of surveillance and control programs.
