The Independent Clinical Trials Department (I.C.T.D.) of the Hospital has been operating since June 2026.
The purpose of the Department, which reports directly to the Hospital Administration, is to ensure the cooperation and coordination of the responsible departments and services of the Hospital to facilitate the smooth conduct of biomedical research in accordance with European and national legislation, the development, monitoring, and supervision of relevant administrative procedures, as well as maintaining, in collaboration with the Medical Service, the registry of approved clinical trials and research protocols.
Legal Framework
The establishment of the ATKM is provided for by the provisions of Article 83 of Law 5041/2023 (Government Gazette 87/A/2023) and its responsibilities are defined by JMC G2a/oik.52875/08.10.2024 (Government Gazette 5651/B/2024).
Development & Organization
The gradual development and organization of all actions required by legislation are planned, with immediate priority given to establishing standardized operational procedures "(Standard Operating Procedures – SOPs) for the reception of new clinical studies and monitoring the progress of implementing contractual administrative requirements.
